  • H & M Construction, Inc.

    Construction
1342 North 3650 East, Ashton, ID 83420, us

Thirteen years ago Doug and Charlotte Hillam had the opportunity to stop farming and start new endeavors. In 1998, they, along with Terry Martindale (hence the H & M) got together in a partnership and bought the business from Weldon Reynolds, since he was venturing on to new endeavors himself. After a few years, Terry found something else he enjoyed more, so now Doug runs the business solely with the help of his right hand lady, his daughter Eileen Sessions. That’s right, Charlotte is Doug’s sweetheart, but within the business his daughter “is his everything” as Doug would put it. “H & M now stands for Her & Me”, Doug says. They specialize with anything to do with excavation, including: sewer systems, roads, hauling gravel, snow removal, cleaning out ditches for canal companies, digging for foundations for new homes, and the list goes on! So if you see Doug going down Main Street in a backhoe or a dump truck you can bet he is on his way to another job, or if you see him in his trusty ol’ blue Toyota you can bet to find Eileen in the passenger seat, as father and daughter are off to another adventure! Give them a call for all your excavation needs or possibly snow removal needs for this winter season. You can leave a message at the Hillam residence @ 652-3605 or call Doug’s cell phone @ 351-1032

Ron Palmer is a native of Island Park and now resides on the Ashton Hill with his family. He and his wife (Monique Wynn) have been married over 20 years. They have 4 sons and 1 daughter. Ronnie (as his friends around town call him) has been doing what he loves since high school. While others opted the more traditional way of working in the spuds during harvest and moving pipe during summer, Ron worked construction. After high school and some life adventures, 1994 was the year he ventured out on his own starting with only a small chop saw, skill saw, 1 1/2 hp air compressor, and a nail gun. Growing a little each year by doing any odd job just to get his name out; he now employs 6-10 employees. Ron Palmer Construction INC is a great example of the real American dream! Ron Palmer Construction INC will build anything from a deck to a 12,000 sq. foot cabin. They specialize in structural insulated foam panels and conventional framing, metal, architectural shingle or cedar shake roofs, garages, additions, remodels, custom interior finishing, and Redwoood and Trex decking, and the list can go on! Whether it be residential or commercial they are happy to build it for you. They do all their own framing and specialize in high end trim work. Ron says that he really enjoys working in this area and meeting new people. The most rewarding part of my job is, “having my sons work with me,” says Ron.
